Back after a loooooong break and hoping for some York area tips if possible...

Hello! I got to week 8 run3 way back in 2017 but twisted my knee in an entirely unrelated activity and never really got back to it after some hefty life curveballs including a continued prolong period of unemployment, deciding not to pursue a career change to teaching so having to sell up and relocate, so I now find myself back to my beginnings in the York area. Rather than sit in my one woman pity party, I’ve decided to get back to the c25k as I felt great doing it, which I’m sure will make positive changes to my outlook and job hunting - I’ll never forget after the first run, wanting to go up to people and say ‘I’ve run for a total of 8 minutes’!

Anyway, I’m hoping there might be to tips for where to go shuffle along in the York area (I’m out to the north). I’m on the chunky side and don’t want to go on roads until my confidence improves, plus they seem to double as racetracks. I had planned to go to one of the park and rides with access to a nice network of paths near the river but have been put off by the continuing your journey of foot, being removed from the parking signs. Many thanks in advance.

Thank you, great to have a reminder 🙂 I will have to keep reminding myself to go slow, then even slower 🐢

I’ve had a couple of work trips to York and have enjoyed early morning runs out from the city along the Ouse and back via the Millennium Bridge.
