Anyone else about to start Week 5 tomorrow? Feel like I need to do this week ‘with someone’!

How are you feeling about it?

Excited! I think I'm trying to hide my mind from the fact that this time next week I will have run for 20 minutes straight. But also, I have to say that the programme has been bob-on up to now so if I trust the programme I will be ready for it! How about you?

I think I’m looking forward to the challenge (!), just trying to think of a route. Not sure how far I’ll get in 20 mins so trying to think of a loop I can do. Getting bored of where I normally run!

Yew, I'm going to start changing my route too. Rather than round and round the football pitch I reckon my normal warm up time will take me to a path along the river then I can run out until the halfway point and then run back.

Well done for spotting getting bored with your route, -changing that, or even changing direction or part of a route makes quite a difference. I often ask myself “where do you fancy running?” (Never ever “DO you fancy running!?” 😂)

I find I’m thinking about it more and more with every run now! Especially with the 20 min run coming up, need somewhere flat!!

You’ll both do great! Like you said, you really can trust the programme. It might help to keep to a fairly flat route though, just to avoid the extra work of uphill going. There’s time enough to work on that, but it needn’t be for your first 20 straight minutes — except that’s just how you want it, of course!

Me too, W5 R1 on Tuesday. After a 13 hour shift at work 😂 Enjoy 👍

Will let you know how it goes 😳😳Good luck with yours this week and keep us updated👍. I’m like you thinking of a route to run for twenty mins that’s a bit different to what I’ve been doing.

I’m thinking of driving to somewhere for the first time. Have a couple of National Trust places not far with some nice paths and trails. Good luck with yours too! Just need to sort the music too!!

Did wk5 r1 yesterday and it was fine. Like everyone else I can’t imagine doing the 20 min run. But when I do I will be so proud. R2 will be on Tuesday. Good luck.

Yay I did it! Drove to my local park, I'd never noticed before how many hills there were but i didnt let them defeat me and conquered them all (at a snail's pace 😂).

Good luck with run 2

Yay! Well done! Think I’m definitely going to look for flatness for run 3!

So just back from my first W5 run and I did it...in the rain with Bryan Adams! 😆 Actually finding the longer I run the easier it is to find a rhythm. Still can’t imagine running the 20 mins at the end of the week though!!

Congrats! I'm doing mine tomorrow as I'd forgotten I have a meeting tonight. Will check in once done. :)

I did my w5 r1 yesterday day 2 tomorrow. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. You can do it. :)

I’m on week 5 to. Did run 1 today which was fine but run 3 is definitely worrying me.

Me too, but I think we have to believe in ourselves and the program, it’s setting us up to be able to cope with it 😊

Just done the 20-minute run. No, I didn't think I could do it either. And I have a cold! My sinuses are killing me, my lower back feels a bit uncomfortable, but my legs are ok...

Well done! I’m still in W4 and already scared if the 20 min run next week. You did brilliantly, especially with a cold!

Well done! Am taking everyone who has done it as my inspiration come Saturday and R3!

You have run for 15 minutes on run 1

18 minutes on run 2 so don’t worry too much about 20 minutes on run 3 you will be able to do it.

I found it easier to run constantly with no walking breaks. Don’t forget to start slowly and listen to your music. 😊
