Help!! I am experiencing really awful involuntary muscle tensing at night...I am on week 5, this has been happening quite a bit but last night was worst ever, this morning my leg really aches and I need to do my 1st run today, I really don't want to fall out of routine...this is not cool!!πŸ˜•πŸ˜• any pearls of wisdom really appreciated. X

Are you warming up well and stretching after your runs. Also, as the runs get longer... upping some of your rest day exercise for strength and stamina could be useful:)

You could also.. don't laugh..be running in your sleep... I do it !

Blimey you must be shattered in the mornings!

I do other classes during the week and try to walk as much as poss.

I do stretch before and after as I've seen the negative result on.my partner!

I even take Apple cider vinegar at night, eat the odd banana, drink tonic water but still this happens....but only at night.

I wish I could say I'm running in my sleep (might lose more weight!) But alas I'm not even asleep...it's really unnerving to be honest and now getting painful.

I was wondering if anyone else gets this and what they did to resolve it.

Thank you for replying though, I appreciate it x...have a great run tonight!😊

Maybe go and get it checked out then..we are not medical experts, but it does not sound like Restless Leg Syndrome, which we have had posts on and can be a result of the exercise...Maybe your GP or a Sports Physio would be a plan.

I found this odd link?
