I feel sure many folk have.. there are a lot of us running on here. I know you were suffering with this.... and now it is time to go and get it checked out... a sports physio is your best bet at this stage:)

Well done... try to be patient... many of us have spent many, many weeks on the IC and the runs always wait for us... :)

I was going to suggest that you get checked out by your GP or a physio, so glad to hear you have an appointment arranged.

As Oldfloss says, patience will pay off and you will more than likely overcome this setback.

Why not do some extra strengthening exercises while on the IC .........all runners need good core strength.

Wishing you all the best.

I pulled a ligament in my knee at the end of week1. I was on the IC for 2-3 weeks. I iced it and got a knee support, which really helped. I then restarted the programme after gait analysis and new running shoes. I graduated last week injury free this time.

I was similar knee support however didn’t help but strengthening exercises did and new runners were a god send

I brought a better knee support yesterday and it’s made a huge difference this morning.

I have had a couple of knee hiccoughs! The first was in the early weeks and gait analysis and the correct shoes sorted it out-that was a pain on the inside slightly below the knee and I think was just beginner’s aches and pains. Later I had a sprained knee and had to rest it and do exercises. My doctor also advised me to keep on cycling to keep the muscles around the knee strong. - All good now. Your patience and your appointment sound the right way forward, hang on in there! 😀

Mine is slightly below the knee I can bend it fine it’s just painful when I put pressure on it to walk. Thank you for your advice 🙂

Oh yes. One thing solved mine. Went to ‘proper’ running shop and they did a brief gait analysis. I needed supportive running shoes due to over pronation. Not had a moments pain since then.

That’s something I’ll have to look into once I’m pain free
