I had 7 days rest due to leg pain and started from scratch took it nice and easy but had to stop half way through run 4. My groin hip both knees front and back shins and ankle were throbbing but I did notice that my breathing had improved so much. Think some nice weather would help

Never try and run through pain. Aches and niggles are to be expected. Pain is a warning. Well done for resting for a week. You might need more. Just listen to your body and let it heal before pushing it again.

As for the 5K in July, you'll run the whole thing! You've got loads of time. Take as much rest as you need now rather than risk more injury later.

And don't worry. You'll be fine.

Auw thanks for this. I was really mad at my self for not being able to do it, but my breathing is so much better so I'm happy with that at least. X

That is good about your breathing, I think if that’s ok then it’s definitely half the battle. I’m having to take time off this week with sore knees after just completing week 2. I’m not worried about picking up again from week 3 tho coz I felt my breathing was comfortable. Now just need these legs to behave 😂

A bad run is always better than no run! I had awful leg pain in the early days. Hot bath and 4 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol did the trick. However slow you’re going you can always be slower. I run on a treadmill and vary from 5km/hour to 7. Today my run was awful, but I had a busy day in work, no water and Pilates beforehand. Keep at it. Redo the runs if you need to, I did. This plan does work. Keep at it xxxxx

Oh how awful. :( Can you get some advice from your doctor on whether this is injury pain or just muscle pain? I've suffered with terrible aching during the first two weeks but I'm almost back to normal now. I'm definitely glad I worked through it, but you have to listen to your body if the pain is severe.
