Yes but I think the guidance is to set the elevation gradient to at least 1% to emulate the outdoors, I’m sure this isn’t vital at first though ?

I’m using a treadmill too.

I did couch to 10K in 2017 then stopped running mainly due the fact that I’m allergic to just about everything that has any pollen so I could only run in winter without having big reactions but then the paths I use are not gritted so winter is bad etc etc. All in all I stopped running!

My fitness has dropped massively as well so at Christmas we got a treadmill, I can run inside with no slippy pavements and not as much pollen!

So I am here doing couch to 5k again and trying to regain my fitness.

Treadmill running I find is harder due to boredom and if you want to simulate being outside or are training for an outside run I would say alter the incline so simulate up hill sections etc. If you are just running on the treadmill to stay fit I guess the incline thing doesn’t matter though.

At the end of the day you are moving and getting fitter . X

Following the program is the most important part, you've got off the couch and onto the treadmill and that is was matters!

I'm also a treadmill runner (recovering from knee surgery so want the even ground, plus it is cold and dark outside!). I know some of the outdoors people think a treadmill is boring but I listen to an audiobook and just go with it!

Running is running so a treadmill is absolutely fine. I did most of the programme on one but now, after running outside for years, find a treadmill really hard! Well done to you, just keep moving 🙂

I run on a treadmill too, I just put it on the 5k setting as it changes gradient along the way so it emulates being on a road. See if yours has a similar setting.
