lazy runner excuses

So I haven't been out for a run since November, the joys of working in retail mean I haven't had a day off until today, and I'm not brave enough to go out on my own in the dark.

I know excuses, excuses ☺☺☺ been out today and came back after just 1km ... lol took me longer to get ready than I actually ran 🙄 someone give me the kick up the butt I need 👊

My first three runs back were shorter than yours today... I did half miles... so don’t knock your comeback run! Ease back in gently and build the distances back up. I’m now on 2 mile runs.

So, well done for getting out there again, enjoy your running and keep getting out there. The lighter nights are coming too!

No days off in 2 months? Whoever is running that company needs firing.

LOL I did get Christmas Day and NYD off but couldn't muster up a run ... two people have gone off sick so it's been all hands on deck ... its levelling out now though so should have some free time and yes the nights are definitely getting lighter here.

Think my problem is I need an app to tell me what to do or I just bail and having done it a few times now it's in my head before I even start.

Think I'm going to try the Nike running, reading some positive things about it.

The guided runs are wonderful... Coach Bennett is amazing... and the next logical run for you would be the “one mile run” guided... down the bottom in distance based runs next to the intimidating 10 mile one 😂

The coaching is so great that when I’m using one of the running plans I often use a guided run of the same length instead of just hitting start on the plan. Music or podcast will fade down while coach speaks. Headspace runs are amazing... they start at 20 minutes I think, they keep dropping more. There’s runs for treadmill now too.

The plans are good, and it uses its sister app in them to cross train you into a stronger runner. Have fun!

My treadmill arrives in the next hour or so 😁😁 Ive never been this excited for a delivery!!! I know its not the same as running outdoors, but i cant wait to get back to it 🤗

I have had a look at some treadmills on ebay, wondered if I'd use one or just hang washing on it, the thought of the kids laughing at me as I slog along in the house is just too much though 😏

Sounds like the perfect solution let us know how it goes 👍

Awww bless ya! I can relate to the kids being monsters!! Luckily mine are grown now.

The deciding factor for me was being able to run in my pyjamas while i watch Corrie 😂😂

What's wrong with PJs outside? As long as they're the flannelette ones of course..........
