The Kenyans and Ethiopians tend to run like that. No way can I though :)

Many, if not all elite runners tend to run on their toes, but it requires calf strength and good technique, so is probably not advisable to mimic without an experienced trainer at hand.

It actually looked painful to me to run like that

That's kind of my natural style, and i wish it wasn't. As Iannoda says, it's been murder on the calves, meaning i had to take extra rest days throughout the program. I haven't yet become a world class runner either strangely enough 🤔... 😂

I've tried forefoot running, I just did it and ran about 7k after reading an article about it. The next morning I could barely walk, the pain in my achilles tendons was excruciating - I could barely get my shoes on for work - The kids at school thought I was hilarious wincing in agony every time I got up.Never again! But if anyone does give it a go I suggest doing just a little bit and easing into it. If you google runnersworld forefoot running you should get some info about it, but you have been warned😉

I use it for running up hills when they are long and hard, I find it tempers my pace and means I can go for longer. I’ve never tried using it on the flat/downhill though.

I thought it overdeveloped your calves and I already have a set that Popeye would be proud of!

If you watch 100m sprinters, this is how they run. I could do it for a (very) short (relatively slow) sprint, but that’s about it.
