Does anyone have any tips to help with a painful knee? I have previously had an ACL repair and cartilage removal which means my knee aches most days. I have just started couch 2 5k and wondered if anyone finds anything helpful. Does knee strapping work? Any particular stretching exercises? I am investing in my first pair of ‘proper’ trainers! Thanks

I’ve also had ACL reconstruction - You need to strengthen your quads, hamstrings and glutes to support the knee.

I run in minimalist trainers!

Good luck and don’t give up.

Good shoes should help, knee strengthening exercises and maybe a knee support. Softer surfaces will be better while it strengthens, I ran a lot on grass.

Thanks everyone! I definitely need to do the strengthening exercises. My new shoes arrive next week, I am excited!
