I might have just overlooked this somewhere, but is it advisable to do some form of stretching exercise before embarking on the C25K sessions ?
I know it always begins and ends with 5 mins of walking , but what about prior to that.

I've never done stretches beforehand apart from flinging my arms around and some funny little dance steps when I'm doing the walking bit, but I know people do, often if they have an underlying niggle like tight calves. I think you'd need to warm up a bit first anyway because its not a good idea to strech cold muscles. I'm sure if you check out runnersworld website you'll find lots of info.
Stretching before a run should be dynamic stretches, not the static stretching that you do after a run, as linked to in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
As the temperature drops an extended warm up can be beneficial to get muscles ready for working, especially if you have any particular troublesome muscle groups.
The BRISK walk will be enough - that's what it's there for. For the moment anyway
My understanding was that the five minute brisk walk is all that is needed to warm up and get the muscles loose enough to do the jogging.
