Week 7 struggles

Wow we have all heard of the wall , but tonight I felt mins 0-25 were hitting the wall .

Breathing was shocking and can’t say I enjoyed it at all , plus with my tinnitus every step pounds in my ears

I just hope run 2 is more fun ☹️

Hi Yorkred62, sorry about your tough run. W7 was not the best for me either, we all have a bad run at some point I guess. But it was not quite a wall for your because you went through it and kept going despite the difficulties 💪💪💪! Maybe if your breath was hard, you could try slowing down a bit in the next one. Have a good run on Thursday!!

I have just done W7R1 too and it was a killer. Got to the end without actually dying though. I have found this the hardest run and the idea of 2 more a bit daunting. But we've committed to it, eh, so by heck, we'll see it through, what say you?

Deffo , I used to do this distance in my sleep back in my army days , but I’m a lot slower and older now . But I will beat this . Then hopefully I can find running 30 mins every other day a bit easier . Keep it up you too 👍

Well done getting this far, you're right, w7 can be tough (ok, hideous & I speak from experience!) But stick with it & all the best for future running.

Thanks , I will do it I know , just wish it was like 20 years ago , but you can’t turn back the clock . At least I am away from the gym now and doing my own thing 😊

Well done, but trust me, you did not hit The Wall ... that can happen to marathon & longer-distance runners at around the 20 mile mark... not the 1-2 mile mark!

What you experienced was similar to what is commonly referred to here as the Toxic 10s - that 1st 10 mins of running that feels a struggle - simply cos your body wasn't warmed up - bit like a cold car in the morning.

When you The Wall at the 20 mile point, you'll know about it!

I know it wasn’t the wall really I was being a bit precious . It was just annoying the previous 25 minute run felt easier

Thanks for your support 👍

Sometimes it's not pretty and it's not easy but every time you complete a run it's a victory. You are building strength and just as importantly, mental resilience. Well done for sticking at it.

Thanks I know I will do it 👍

Cheers
