morning everyone the last few days I have been looking into helping my self get over this Fibromyalgia I have had this for at least 8 years and no its no better and yes its pain ,stiffness and fatigue every day some more than others but hey! you know ! so here I am looking at better diet cutting out the meat and going more veggie , gluten free etc. I had a soft tissue massage on my legs last week and Jen has motivated me to get moving again as I was fit and rode my horse every day up to last year when I had life changes on the job front and lost everything apart from my home . Thank God ! I still have that . Running Hmmm 56 over weight and the rest of it ! I have always liked the thought of running distances but never done it . Watching a doc on the news this morning where ladies with terminal cancers are training for a 5k to get them moving to help live longer with their illness and feeling so much better for it and I'm moaning about a bit of pain ! I have to give this a try .........

Good morning Kaz, good for you, I think the running can only help the fibromyalgia, I wish you every success.

It’s amazing how many people do this programme against the odds, and you can do it too - we’re all right here behind you ! Get out there and give it laldy ! 😄

Don't do yourself down @madkaz Terminal cancer comes in many forms and can sometimes respond better to pharmaceutical pain relief and fibromyalgia pain can be significant.

It sounds as though the C25K programme has a great deal to offer you, especially if you run outside so you are in full charge of your pace. Do check out the pinned post guide to the programme and remember it is a running motion not a sprint, may not be faster than walking. You may also benefit from keeping the walking to walking rather than trying to be 'brisk'

If there's any chance of even the mildest ME overlap (which is fairly common) be extra cautious. The compulsory non-running day is your friend, given that post-exertional malaise may not kick in the same day as the run or even the day after, so you can assess.

Enjoy!
