Graduated on the treadmill but I’m with a running group outside now so back to week 7. I can run with the group fine and complete the 25 mins ok as they distract me. BUT ... when I’m on my own I find it really hard for the first 5 or 6 mins and struggle to keep going. Any tips please to get over the first bit?

It’s common for the first 5-10 minutes of a run to be the hardest... it’s referred to as the “toxic 10” a lot. Slower start and gradually up to your pace with a faster finish will probably be easier and the same time.

I know the feeling! Some days the first three to five minutes my legs feel so heavy and I'm struggling to breath but then I get into my stride and that running with ease feeling comes back. I think of myself like an old engine that just needs those first few minutes to get all my bits loosened up! I think you just need to accept it and tough it out
