outside: talked myself out of going for a run... - Couch to 5K
outside
Sometimes it just needs to be done! Is it a weekly group run? You can do it, it’s very liberating
monday wensday friday i thought i would do monday and friday at gym and outside wensday but i just dont feel ready for outside yet i think i know once i get there i will be fine its just getting there first i will try next week
I’m sure you’ll love it... I’d get up to cheetam park and just do it... nice slope on that park, start with a gentle decline, and you’ll be grinning by the time you get to go back up it 😀
Get outside, do it. It’s great, it’s fresh air, it’s a different kind of experience and am sure you will enjoy it xx
Outside ? What's not to like?
Autumn colours, the wind breezing you along and gorgeous skies. 🌅🍁🍂
Get out there! I'm sure you'll get a high that no treadmill can ever match.
Go for it mate, pick a week from C25k, don’t run to a distance, just run to a set time, try running as slow as you can, gives you confidence when you have to tell yourself to slow down
Get them shoes muddy, You know you want to
thanks
Have you downloaded strava app to your phone ?
dont use a phone mate
thank you i will do a park run its nice if you know somone there
Paul, outside is just different, you don't need to go too far, just try 20 or 25 minutes, see how it feels, if it's ok, keep going 😊
I did my c25k on the treadmill and never ran outside as was really nervous of it, for no real reason. Then a new running group started c25k so joined them back at the start. Found it much harder running outside physically but now really love it, and the group. It’s so much more fun than the treadmill!
I know what you mean, running outside is scary, but only because you haven't done it before - anything new is scary.
But you've already completed C25K so you don't have to prove anything to yourself (or anyone else!).
Just do it Paul. So what if you have to go slower? So what if you don't manage 5k immediately? You're learning a new skill, and believe me, you will grow to love it!
