November’s first mantra

ButtercupKid
ButtercupKidGraduate

To the tune of “The Runaway Train”. Those of a male persuasion, feel free to replace “she” with “he” and “her” with “his”. Enjoy ! 😄

The couch-quitting runner went down the track

And she flew,

The couch-quitting runner went down the track

And she flew,

The couch-quitting runner went down the track,

Her mid-foot down and her shoulders back,

And she flew, flew, flew, flew, flew.

Her family said she’d never run

But she flew,

Her family said she’d never run

But she flew,

Her family said she’d never run,

They jeered and said “Pull the other one “

But she flew, flew, flew, flew, flew.

She swore she’d do C25k

And she flew,

She swore she’d do C25k

And she flew,

She swore she’d do C25k,

Now graduation’s not far away

So she flew, flew, flew, flew, flew !

True. In fact it could result in a PB for some folk 😆

Won’t work on me... I listen to a lot of death metal... but I can get some protein on the grill for everyone!

I was singing along to that ButtercupKid, I like the part "she flew she flew and swore she'd do C25K". absolutely fabulous, I hope your running is going to plan.

Taken a sudden leap forward from jogging two thirds of each minute to jogging the whole eight minutes of week 1. Looks like week 2 might just be beginning to peep over the horizon at last ! Hope the week is going well for you, AlMorr ?

It is indeed going well for me thank you ButtercupKid, for the last 25 years I have mainly cycled during the summer months of BST and during ing the winter months of GMT I have not cycled but instead gone long walks. Of course now that I have graduated from C25K I have also put running into my schedule, whether it's summer or winter. Last Wednesday I ran another 5K, yesterday I walked 12K and I meant to have ran 5K this morning but my legs were a bit tight after the walk yesterday, I installed Mapmywalk🚶 app, that is Mapmyrun's 🏃little brother and it told me I had walked nearly 17,000 steps, my legs now feel fine after a short walk to the shops today so tomorrow I'll try for another 5K run. 🏃

No wonder your legs were a bit stiff today ! You’re a real inspiration. Have a great walk tomorrow x

Update. ButtercupKid, just come back from Thursday morning's 5K run around the loch near to where I live, time was 37.59 altogether, perhaps I ran the first 1K too quickly, time was 6.12, had to slow down, enjoyed the run. About halfway round, I met this man who can run a 5K in around 23 minutes coming in the opposite direction running like a gazelle, shouted to him while he passed "I am running a 5K" he shouted back "brilliant". I could never run a 5K in the time he does it in.

He probably has longer legs than you ! I was passed twice the other day by a bloke who wasn’t even breaking sweat. The first time I hated him, but the second time I watched his technique and picked up some ideas of how to improve my own. Every run counts - even the really slow and painful ones !

I actually can't read this because I know it will run around in my brain for weeks!!!
