Parkrun

So am still plodding my way through the C25K in my own way, not really following the programme (I'm sorry!!) but having MJ guide me.

Saturday i did my first park run, barely scraped sub 40 mins, all running so quite happy. Think i may have managed a bit quicker if it wasn't for all those other pesky parkrunners under my feet :-) loved it though.

Last night i went for my plod, was almost home after 42 mins of running (more than 5K) had just passed crack alley and passed the cannabis farm, i kid you not when some grubby man shouted "get your t*ts out" classy eh?

i was having enough problems getting my breath out never mind anything else!!!!

Tomorrow hubby is going to slow right down and plod that last 5 mins or so alongside me.

happy days

I’m confused... 40 and 42 means you’ve completed surely?

Good run and I’m assuming you didn’t oblige that lovely gentleman you met 😂

I'm not sure about the running, according to my C25K I'm on W8R1 next. But i was a bit of a plodder/treadmill runner anyway to begin with i just struggled beyond 10 mins, so hopped into the programme. I've sort of found that if i plod/run slow and if i need to slow it down even more then I'm doing ok. The commentary from MJ helps. Last nights route was just short of 6k and about 44 mins???

Had i not been concentrating on my singing for the last few mins home I'd have muttered something at him but you know theres always tomorrow night to drop kick him :-)

😂 I gave Sarah a few mouthfuls too.

There’s a few different flavours of C25K and as far as I knew requirements for graduation here is 3x30 minute runs in a row.

6k in 44 is pretty good. On a regular day I’d be 36 to 3 miles, I think that’s fairly similar pace.

Edit very similar pace... 11:48 a mile to my 12

ah i thought graduation was once i'd done all the programme :-)

The past 6 runs or so have all been more than 30 mins, with the distance slowly being extended. I'm not extending it any more till i can do my route sub 40.

I got shouted at in that manner. I saw the guy a few days later just pulling up in his grubby van with his wife and children attending the footy 😁. Perfect timing I bet his wife drop kicked him after I’d gone 😡
