Doing two days running in a row magnifies the risk of injury a lot. You need to have been running months before doing so and over a year before you’re good to run most days.
I'd definitely try to find a way you can avoid doing 2 days successive. You may feel fine to do it, but it could have a knock on effect for further runs. It only takes one strain to put you back weeks (as I had a couple of months back) and you'll only end up being mad at yourself for losing that progression. If you find you have nothing to do on a rest day but still want to be active, why not just head out for a walk and see if you can find new routes?
So far I've found walking on the rest days has helped to build stamina (especially with hills) but with a lesser risk of any damage being done.
Thanks! I think I will go for walks in between and my area is so hilly it’s crazy! I definitely don’t want to hurt myself as I’ll end up not being able to do some or all of those things 😱
