Two days in a row?

I know you should take rest days from running, this week I have done:

Tuesday - C25K w1r1

Wednesday - usual trampoline class

Thursday - swim

Today - rest

Tomorrow 1 C25K w1r2

Think I can do w1r3 on Sunday or shall I take another days break?

If I take the break I’ll probably do 3rd run on trues day and 4th run on Wednesday so I’ll still end up doing two days in a row...?

Doing two days running in a row magnifies the risk of injury a lot. You need to have been running months before doing so and over a year before you’re good to run most days.

That’s helpful thank you! I will find a way to squeeze a days break in :)

If that’s your weekly schedule could you do a biathlon on Thursday? Or run Friday take Saturday off.

Hi MM

My what a busy week you have :) Congratulations on starting c25k, i hope you enjoy the journey.

My recommendation is to listen to UnfitNoMore for he is very wise. Also read the pinned post of FAQS. Lots of useful info in there :)

Have fun

I'd definitely try to find a way you can avoid doing 2 days successive. You may feel fine to do it, but it could have a knock on effect for further runs. It only takes one strain to put you back weeks (as I had a couple of months back) and you'll only end up being mad at yourself for losing that progression. If you find you have nothing to do on a rest day but still want to be active, why not just head out for a walk and see if you can find new routes?

So far I've found walking on the rest days has helped to build stamina (especially with hills) but with a lesser risk of any damage being done.

Thanks! I think I will go for walks in between and my area is so hilly it’s crazy! I definitely don’t want to hurt myself as I’ll end up not being able to do some or all of those things 😱
