After truly enjoying W6r3 and W7r1, the rest of week 7 was hard, tough, sluggish and harder still. At the end, one knee was feeling stiff and a strange, unfamiliar pain came and went on the opposite foot. Now started to worry about injuries... Hence giving myself a 3 day rest. Yesterday I also started doing some “knee exercises for runners” which I found on the NHS C5 website. Result: No pain. Felt a whole lot better about my run. Not sluggish, just about the right amount of hard. Managed to keep a decent, steady pace throughout even though I tired towards the end (which is just how it should be at this stage for a beginner and learner like me). Finished off with the knee exercises and stretches - so far so good!

W8r1 after 3 day rest
Well done Dragonflies, better to be safe than sorry - you did the right thing there. Good idea with the knee exercises too they sound good. I've had some issues on and off with my right leg from the start and I've been promising myself a gait analysis and some new trainers for a while now... I had some twinges on my W8R1 so I finally got round to doing it on the weekend so hopefully the new trainers will help now. Enjoy the rest of your runs this week, and here's to staying injuy free! 😃🤞🥂
Dragonflies you've got all the right ideas going on. Keep the pace under control, acknowledge that we are pushing ourselves, so don't give up easily but definitely listen to your body in order to stay injury free. You're doing brilliantly. I look forward to graduating with you later this month 😎
