I know what you mean. Just did W8R2 today and for both runs this week another couple of minutes turned out to be do-able.
Mind you I'm really slow - just doing a couple of miles in half an hour, so the cunning plan after graduation is to build up distance to 3 miles, which I think I can do in about a month by adding 10pc a week (I'll be running for about 45 minutes by then, which at my current pace will be about three miles). Then I'll work on speed to be able to do three miles in 30 minutes. In theory that's another month, but I'm less confident about gaining speed.
This is how running drags you in isn't it .... 'I'll just with on that, then that other thing, then improve that other thing...'
