I completed run 1.2 last night. I am already fairly fit as I am a cyclist but as my commute reduced from 4.5 to 1.2 miles each way due to personal circumstances, I have taken up running as it is easier to fit into your life than cycling (I will do both and might add swimming too). Last night my legs were still stiff from run 1.1 (perhaps ran more than jogged as instructed due to initial fitness). This surprised and pleased me as I wasn't expecting to be relying on non-cycling muscles so much. Anyway, I am really enjoying this running lark so I do not think motivation will be too much of an issue.

I found my (functional rather than lycra-based) cycling helped too. With legs a bit, though as you say it's new muscles, but the cardio has been fairly easy too. Mostly the design of the programme, but my lungs were already used to exertion from cycling. It's also good low impact exercise on 'rest' days.
