Any recommendations for hi-vis stuff now the nights are getting darker earlier..Do i really have to look like a car parking attendant with a hi-vis bib on or are those belts/wrist bands any good?

Tips/Advice/Recommendations all gladly received. :)

I'd go for maximum visibility, especially if there are any stretches without pavements and you're running on the road. In our town the new street lights don't give anything like as much light as their predecessors and runners/pedestrians aren't as easily seen as they might be.

I have a light-up armband, a bit like the wrist ones you show, and a light-up collar for the dog. I also have a bright coloured running jacket with reflector bits. Some people even get a head torch although I haven't tried that yet.

Better looking like a car parking attendant who's still alive than a cool and sophisticated runner who isn't!!

The thing is, people driving by only see the high viz, reflective and lighty up stuff, so they don’t know it’s you! In the summer they all see us in our dayglo shoes and ridiculously loud tops... but then they also may recognise us!

I think Ron Hill did a night ninja set... black with lots of reflective... not sure if they still do.

They do... infinity nightfall... not cheap though.

I wear a white jacket. I don't really do much more than that, where I run the street lights are quite good and I actually run in the morning when it's still dark, so it's pretty quiet. I run on the "wrong" side of the road so that I am facing oncoming traffic when there are no side walks.

I use a head torch - something like this amazon.co.uk/iSeaFly-Rechar...

Very bright with a red led at the back of your head. You won't trip on kerbs or stones with that.

Oooh I might invest in some of those. I’m all for bright things! I have a bright pink jacket but I will be investing in a more... you can’t miss me jacket.
