After c25k no motivation

Graduated July did a 5k fun run in Aug and nothing since. It feels like I need an app that was like the first one I don’t get on with the c210k like the 1st one though didn’t give it long any ideas for inspiration to get me going again as winter upon us and motivation low despite my love of C25k training and running previously any tips great fully received

You could try a training plan from one of the fitness apps... they would vary you runs and make it more interesting. The Nike one even has coaches right in your ears as you run with guided runs.

Or maybe book another race to enter? Having a goal may help.

I haven't graduated yet (I'm in week 7), but I am already looking at maps of the local area to find new places to run, places to explore and challenges to set. If trails are your kind of thing (I don't like road running) then take a look at places like canal tow paths, bridleways, local parks, etc.

There are some follow up podcasts available, though not with a structured weekly program. There are three available - Stepping Stones, Speed and Stamina. I'm going to mix these up in the weeks following graduation (fingers crossed for that!), but my focus will be on stamina as I want to improve my endurance in the hills.

Good luck!

It sounds like you had a goal, and once you achieved it, the running habit no longer had a purpose? As already suggested, you could register for another race (and another after that and so on) if the entry fees aren't prohibitive, an event every couple months would likely be enough?

Or, you could find a running group to join, meet a friend at a weekly parkrun, find some way of building in some accountability? A lot of people need some accountability to stick to goals, I'm one of them and now I'm committed to building that in to keep me on track.

Have you ever looked at virtual runner ? It’s a website where you can enter in races and challenges. They are great fun and you get a nice medal and some of the money you pay for the medal goes to charity. I have done a couple and have another couple coming up in November.

I have also just completed a 9 week program of 5kto10k same concept of C25k with 3 runs a week I enjoyed it and now have completed one 10K so far . Lots of other apps to check out and also park run is another good one to do . Good luck 😉

I've found that using the Strava app set up to tell me at each km how far I have run and for how long has really helped. Getting that feedback every 6 minutes or so makes a difference! Graduated in August and have run 3 times a week ever since. Oh, and music!

I too lost my mojo a bit after graduating as I consolidated a bit too long and didn't make any progress. Then I decided to aim for 10k, partly using JoJo's magic plan on Bridge to 10k, and joined a running group. I also do Park Run every Saturday. I now feel very motivated to continue to improve, and have run in my first 10k race, which was awesome! Definitely having a new goal worked for me, and having some company. You can do this! 😁
