Week 5 completed

Yay that’s week 5 in the bag. I suffered a little with shin splints and aching calves but kept going. Does anyone else have this problem? It might be because I ran two consecutive days and need the rest day? I’m resting tomorrow and will start week 6 on Monday 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

NEVER 🏃 two consecutive days Catherine, you could injure yourself doing that, perhaps the reason why you have shin splints and aching calves.

Totally agree with AlMorr, rest days are important Catherine1. Your leg muscles need that recovery and repair time.

Lots of people take extra rest days between the rub days at the running time increases too! Be kind to yourself and stay injury free...

Well done on that 20 minute run😊x

I think there's some stretches you can do before running that help, and afterwards also. Try to run in grass as it's not as hard as paths and roads. But i agree with the above - rest days are your friends!
