Hi, I'm Andy, my wife just recently got me into c25k after she started back at Easter and is doing brilliantly, she's now training for 5t10k. I've just finished week 4 and am loving it, first real exercise except for a bit of gym work for 37 years after a nasty accident broke my foot and stopped me running for many many years. Comfortable breathing is my issue, so any tips gteatly appreciated

Hi
Hi Andy
Slow down. I think that’s the best way to control breathing. The temptation is to run to fast. Enjoy your running 😁
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
Hi Andy, so neat that you and your wife are doing this programme, Good on you both. As far as your breathing goes, just do what comes naturally. I couldn’t do the breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, but once I relaxed and stopped overthinking it I was fine. 👍
Hi Andy, you need to slow down. A helpful thing that someone said to me was “you can run as slowly as walking pace, but doing the running movement “. You will find a little later that your speed will increase without you even trying. The other best piece of advice was, don’t think about your breathing just breathe and it will sort itself out -it did! 😄
