Next week I going to start running hills I of to Cornwall so should be fun what distance should I run first I can run 5k do you think that will be a bit much to start with I also ran this morning with a light jacket but got very hot do I need a jacket when running

If this is your first hill session I’d recommend intervals... put week one run one one... run up, walk down, rinse and repeat.

If you don’t fancy that then reduce distance... maybe half it to start with and try to keep your normal pace.

Jackets are great if it’s cold enough... currently I’m in my just get wet temperature range... I imagine it’ll change before December

As a recent convert to hills, I would say the distance is reliant on how you take to hills. You might be putting more effort in if you're being brave and running up the hills, so a shorter distance might be appropriate, or you might be doing more walking if the hills defeat you, so you might want to go a bit further. My advice would be to suck it and see!
