Park run?

I'm doing w5r1 on Saturday and want to do it at my local park run event (never done park run before!). I won't complete the 5k in the duration of w5r1 so when I have finished the podcast what should I do? Should I just walk to the finish or run a bit more? Ideas please x

Great that you are getting to a parkrun. Don't forget to take your barcode.

I suggest extending the warm-up walk to 10 minutes, firstly to get yourself nicely warmed up, but mainly to let the faster runners get ahead and out of your way. Then do your W5r1, and see how you feel at the end of the session. You may want to cut the cooldown walk a bit short, and then run for another 5 minutes, or walk it all, or the atmosphere could have you running it all. Who knows?? But don't make a firm plan now, just see how you feel on the day.

Parkrun is great. As long as you do your C25K run it doesn’t matter how you do it... just enjoy the experience and the “well done” words you’ll hear a lot.

MarkyD has it, as always........just stick to your programmed run.

Don't forget to register your club as NHS C25K.

Have a great time.
