Up and out before 7am to fit the run in. Legs were tired but kept going for 30 minutes. I'm thrown by MY stamina and mental willpower. The route I did today meant an accumulation of a 40 metre elevation. And most of that was a very very long continuous hill. I chose to run the hill that was through the trees and soft under foot in the hope it would distract me. It did in part but my goodness it seemed to go on forever! But I did it and including the warm up and cool down I did 5k on the nose in 39:32 somehow!
There's an organised 5k race on Saturday. It's my penultimate run, due day. I have until tomorrow night to sign up but I'm just not sure. Do I leave an event like this til after I've graduated or do I use this 'race' as one of my C25K runs?
And if I do do it... how should I approach It? Start the race with my 5 min brisk warm up walk or do my warm up a little bit before to make sure my legs are stretched and warmed up and then run for at least 30 mins non stop in line with the C25K app and then continue to run if I can to finish or walk over the line in my cool down (with a little spurt at the end potentially... for that photo finish 🤣🤣🤣)?
Thanks for any advice
