The best advise I can give (and you’ll hear it lots on here!) is to slow down and then slow down some more! Embrace your inner 🐌 because s/he will be your best friend over the next few weeks. Remember you’re building stamina not pace at the moment.
Those Gremlins who may visit inside your head and make you ever doubt you can do the next run? Tell them to do one! You CAN do it!
Enjoy the next few weeks and keep us updated on your progress 🏃🏻♀️

Don’t be afraid to repeat if you have to. Look on it as a deliberate choice, letting you work on pace and style, not as a failure. And above all else, have fun ! We’re all right here with you 😀

Welcome. Post your progress on here, the support is brilliant. Any questions the same. As Oaktree2 said keep it slow and you must take your rest days. That's when your muscles repair and you get stronger. Avoid fatigue, fatigue leads to injury, the number one reason people give up. Good luck and enjoy the journey!

Welcome.. all the advice you need is right there... follow the link:
Slow and steady....!
You will hear it, so so much... I am infamous for saying it. But, the advice works. The plan is to get us running for thirty minutes after nine weeks..or however long it may take you.
It is a great programme and we learn so much, not just about running, but about ourselves too.
We want you to get there injury free and mostly, having enjoyed it! So keep posting... and welcome to this great forum family!

Good advice has already been given ! I'd add that if you have breasts, a good sports bra makes a world of difference.
Good runners are essential. Getting an analysis of your running gait is a good idea to get the right shoes for you. Also if you’re anything like me, a good quality sports bra!!! 😳😂

You'll get plenty of advice to get decent running shoes and gait analysis. At some point, you'll want to go to your local independent running store and get some advice. But gait analysis is going to require you to run on a treadmill whilst your running gait is videoed for analysis. So you need to be confident to run on a treadmill for 5 minutes. That can happen later in your C25K journey.
First few weeks of C25K have you run/walking in short 1-2 minute sections. I don't think that there is any need to rush out and buy anything. Go with the things that you already have.
Thanks everyone. I went this morning and loved getting back into it! First time running in my new area (I used to live by a park a few years ago which made it easier) so it was fun scouting out a new route.
