I’m trying not to let Merlin do too much, so I’d planned to let him run 1k then let the other Canicross people go on ahead and walk him for 1k before running him again.

He however had other ideas and the best I could do was slow him down for the second 1k, after which everyone had a walk break, so he didn’t have any other choice 👍

Another lady with a young pointer and I then chose to turn back and walk/run - emphasis on walk - our way back to the cars, so we weren’t letting our dogs do too much.

Total distance 4.75k in 41.5 minutes.

Great experience there. Merlin had 2k, he knew he could do it! Bet he’s happy to rest a while now though!

Thanks Floss, speeding through a plan to get us ready for a 5k in a couple of weeks - even then I’m not planning on letting him run all of it.
