Hi can’t believe I have managed first 4 weeks on schedule despite not having run for decades. Couch P to 5k Makes you feel great. Week 5 on looks a bit daunting especially the longer runs. Welcome any tips and advice! 😀

I’ll let you know tomorrow when I complete week 5! Is it the 20 minute run that’s daunting? I don’t see it the same way... that’s my beginning to not having walking intervals in... I’ve been looking forwards to it all the time... the start of week 6 has me with the most worries... I know how to do it, but I still have to do it 😂. Anyway, don’t worry, you will be ready. At the start of this, 30 minutes running is impossible. Right now its becoming challenging... by the time we face it that will become doable... and then done!

Great job on 4 weeks... you have everything you need for week 5... relax, you got this.

Thanks for the encouragement. Interested to hear how the 20mins goes....think it’s that part which is worrying me! Well done

It’s a minute shorter than I did yesterday... I deliberately upped my walking pace yesterday, it’s been my weakness thus far, and although I recovered from the first 8 run I was very aware that coming to the second 8 I was a lot looser than towards the end of previous workouts, and when I checked my phone I was over 4mph... the second run was very smooth. So that’s 21 minutes of heart rate up... tomorrow is 20.

Slow, steady and relaxed.... You are ready for it.. and all you need to do is believe it.

Relax and take it gently... breathe steadily and just let the legs take you on:)

As Edison said,

"If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves"

Well done !
