Just thought I would say hello! I am now W3R2, completed at 5am this morning! Not going to lie, it’s hard going, but I guess that’s the point of it. Looked ahead to next week and terrified at the thought of running for 5 minutes. But then I suppose 3 weeks ago I wouldn’t have ran for 3 minutes. Going to try park run this weekend, my plan being that I can use it to see my progress (if any)!

Hi Scotchick! Firstly the fact that you run at 5am is amazing !! Where do you find that motivation? 😂 I loathe morning exercise and always find it so much harder. I’ve just started week 4 and I was exactly the same, I thought there’s no way I can run for a full 5 mins 😱. I completed it yesterday and suprised myself, you can do it 💪🏻💪🏻

I’m going to put this on all my posts now..

Trust the plan.. I couldn’t run a minute 5 weeks ago.. I actually couldn’t I stopped before the end of the last one, now 20 mins is possible.

I have found the first run each week a big step up and difficult but I’ve managed them and progressing each week. I’ve completed two parkruns as part of the plan, follows the run that was due then just bluffed and plodded to finish off the 5k.

You’ll have no problem, for the 5 minute runs keep it nice and steady. Slow and steady.

When doing Parkrun do it as one of your runs and stick to the plan. Walk for 5 mins first and then do the intervals as the C25K app tells you. Park run is brilliant, I’m a big fan, I used to do Parkrun as my last run of each week. Week 5 run 3 etc, but stick to the plan. Each week you will be running more and beating your time. It can be a great motivation.

Ahhh, but you will be able to! Sneaky programme builds us up in readiness for the longer runs, just you wait and see! You’ll look back on prior weeks and wonder what all the fuss was about! 😀🏃‍♀️

Have fun Scotchick! 🏃‍♀️

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Treat your parkrun as just another C25K workout, sticking to the running intervals of the programme.

Enjoy your journey.

Wow 5am 😱 that’s motivation for sure!! Well done for getting to this point, I know it might seem like a big jump but you’ll surprise yourself. If you can find the mental strength to get up and run at 5am then you can do anything! Take your time, don’t go too fast and remember that it’s as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one. You’ve got this 🤩

Thank you.. not going to lie, it is not easy to get up to run at 5, but I know if I leave it until after work I will sit my big butt on the couch and not move!

My husband is doing it too, so we kinda make each other get up and do it, makes it easier... a bit lol
