That’s perfectly normal. I was in agony the day after my first run. Gave it two days before run two and whilst I still ached the next run really helped. Keep going!!

It’s your body saying “what the .......?”

Don’t worry, the programme will build you up gradually, and each run will make you stronger mentally and physically.

Just take the next run nice and slowly, making sure you warm up adequately, and you’ll surprise yourself! 😀

After each run stretch as described in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep moving the following day.

For me, most aches disappeared around W5.

Drink plenty of water and stretch after each run. 💦 💦 In fact, it was lots and lots of water for me and I rarely experienced any aches and pains. I did this from the very start.

One of my knees was a bit niggly at first (and...that’s probably a bit of protest, but stopping was not an option😂), so I started to use a knee support cuff when I ran. It seems to have strengthened a lot and I don’t use the knee support anymore. Protest over!! Running wins! 🏃🏾‍♀️ 😁❤️

I had some terrible aches in week 1, particularly my inner thighs. But I did lots of stretching after each run and it didn't really bother me after the first week. I have plenty of general aches and pains in my calves, back, knees and hips but they're there whether I run or not. I'm just doing lots of all round strength building exercise and eating good food and hoping that my body will be happier overall! The funny thing is that I'm often hobbling around the house but no matter what aches and pains I've had I've always managed the run! Take it slowly, always do warm ups and stretch afterwards and stick with it! You'll get past it! Good luck with your couch to 5K!
