Voice of doom

Hi, can I start by saying a massive thank you for the overwhelming response to my first post. I am both humbled and inspired by your messages.

Positives: W1 R2 completed this morning ok. Beautiful weather, said hello to dog walkers with boisterous Jack Russell.

Not-so-positives: blinking Voice of Doom strikes before I’d even started. Had wanted to go at 6am (something I’ve never managed but have wanted to do for ages), alarm set, all good but time comes and just too snug, just a few mins more......got out at 7.45am. I have no excuses, I have no kids, the animals were sorted by husband so am angry with myself for failing simple task.

Ridiculous state of mind for a professional, responsible 45yr old.

I have just thought of a possible solution to the 6am thing. Maybe tomorrow I’ll aim to get up and go for a walk with dogs.

Want to crack that so I can do C25k before school when term starts this week.

In your hands,

Em

Well done on getting out there, brilliant! I am an early morning runner.....BUT..... I make a point of telling myself, if I miss the early slot there is still a full day ahead to fit a run in to, Enjoy 😀

True. Is it a routine thing for you or necessity? Once term starts, life is dominated by school - another reason to focus on C25k, as a balancing factor but I know it’ll be difficult to go out once I’ve finished schoolwork.

A bit of both. I have to fit around family treatment sessions and other commitments.

You are being too hard on yourself. It’s weekend. You are allowed to enjoy that extra time in bed. You got out and did it.

I’ve done this myself. Determined to go out in the morning. Decided in the morning that I can’t be bothered then changed my mind later in the day and got it done. As long as it’s done I’m not going to be hard on myself.

There is time enough for a routine once school is back.

Yes, I agree, as long as it gets done. Also am trying to remember that I’m lucky to be able to even lace up the trainers and be physically able to do this challenge. Read a lady’s fight with cancer this summer which I try to recall when the Voice starts.

That’s what I love about this forum. You’re the voices of reason that I need. Thank you. 😌
