Got up at 5.20, looked at the temperature on my phone and it said it was 7 degrees!
Decided to wear a long sleeved and higher necked top - huge mistake!! I'd forgotten that I'm peri-menopausal, not the young slip of a thing that I imagine I am and that my body temperature is running at HOT all the flipping time! After the first 5 minutes I realised my mistake, after the first 10 I was considering whipping it off and running in just my bra, after the first 15 I decided to stop whinging about it and just try and remember next time....
In my boiling pits of hell I knew that Sarah M was going to suggest a 'final push' on the last minute and was mentally preparing myself to tell her to bugger off when all of a sudden the play-list gods came out to play and AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long was blasting in my ears and I gave Sarah the final push she wanted.
TGIF and there will be wine tonight!
Furthest run to date clocking in at 4.85k - 5k better know I'm closing in on his tail!

5:20. What a lie in! ππ w4-7 I was getting up at 4:45! How ridiculous!! It is nice out at that time though, super quiet where I am too.
Sounds like youβve got a great playlist too! I have planet rock blasting in my ears as I shuffle along π
Well done bonio! I have the same dilemma about running when itβs cool, and I too learned the hard way about long sleeves. Only when itβs below freezing!!
Youβre going to smash 5k within 30 minutes no worries! Enjoy the rest of your journey and your wine tonight! πββοΈπββοΈπ·π·
Long sleeves are definitely being left in the cupboard for a while yet!! I'm only just getting down to a non-furnace temperature after walking the dogs.. Lesson very definitely learnt
Ah yes I can sympathize with you on being to hot . I recently ran in a thin rain jacket and by the time I got home I was sweating like the accused in the Dock .
So now it get wet and stay cool. Until -1 at least π
Well done, sounds like a good run! I made the same mistake the other day, I went out when it was running in a hoodie, and I don't know what was making me wetter, sweat or the rain! And I got joggers nipple from the zip. Ow!
Great run...! The menopause hit me hard lost all my fitness as I could barely exercise , joint pain, muscle weakness, dizziness, nausea. Blooming nightmare. Basically clawing back a level a fitness with C25K thanks to giving in and getting low dose HRT which is something I thought I'd never need..!
I think I'm going to try some ACDC..that combined with a porridge boost could be just the ticket.
Hi Snuffy_T , I hope you're coming out of the other side of it all now with the HRT? I think that our generation were all taught to fear HRT as some kind of instant cancer trigger, but really it can be so helpful. It makes a massive difference to so many ladies and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
You definitely need some AC/DC on your playlist, it always puts an extra spring in my step for sure
Your posts always make me laugh and feel inspired as I'm on catch up with you!! You are going to fly through the next two weeks (as long as you leave the woolly pullies at home). Enjoy your wine, unfortunately I had mine last night πΆ and have a great weekend
Hi Bonio, I won't be challenging you to a race as in my 25 minutes running I only did 3.7k, but very well done to you on your time and distance. I did W6R3 early this morning and found it ok, I find the thought of it worse than the actual doing of it. Hatter. ps any time you feel like running in your bra feel free to come down to the South Coast for a run. π pps Ska is the music to run to for me.
