I have just completed the park run this weekend and it was such a wonderful achievement! Turned out I had to run for 40 mins to complete it, however, I have been okay post run. Expected to be a bit sore but just felt quite tired and thirsty! I have graduated! 🎓 Now......... Shall we aim for 10k now or just enjoy the running!?

Congratulations! 40 is mighty fine first time round... times fall slowly, and sometimes they go up... just keep doing it.
You can do 10k and enjoy running... they’re not mutually exclusive 😂. Keep doing what you are doing and think where you want this to take you... there’s no rush. You may be a two days and a parkrun girl, you may be a fast 5k girl... you may want to run a marathon. Right now the only thing that matters is that you have the fitness to do anything you like... all running challenges are achievable, it’s about what’s best for you and fits with your life.
Woohoo well done, and a very respectable time too! I’m in the same boat - doing my first Parkrun this weekend, then deciding how to progress. I definitely want to do 10k eventually, but I’m thinking I’ll wait a while before committing to starting on that journey ........ but who knows?!! 🏃♀️🏃♀️

I too did first ParkRun last weekend in 40 minutes. Have decided I will just continue with 2 runs during week and ParkRun for time being. Just worried that as daylight gets shorter I will struggle with weekday runs due to working hours. Does anyone have an opinion on buying running machine?
