Hey!
Does anyone know of a straight-downward, no-fluff ‘running for beginners’ podcast? I have no patience with podcasts that whaffle on
Thank you!

Err.........you could try the Couch to 5k podcasts......... which can be found by following the appropriate link in this guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
I think these podcasts are just the same as the app, with the trainer talking you through the run. I was more thinking about tips and tricks for newbie runners
hah, I made the mistake earlier of replying to a post without checking their history. I see you're doing the C25K, which is available as podcasts so no need for me to suggest that!
I don't know of any running podcasts myself, I listen to music or comedy when running - but what about audiobooks about running? There's quite a few of those. Have a search of the forum maybe - I searched "running podcasts" and found healthunlocked.com/couchto5... .
You listen to the c25k podcast It’s really good 😁👍🏃♀️
Hey! Cheers! I'll have to look again. I just seem to find the podcasts that talk you through the runs - same as on the app. But maybe I'm not looking hard enough
No, that's them or at least I don't believe there's any others that have been mentioned here. There's also C25K+, as the name suggests they are for after you're done with C25K.
I see your other answer mentions "tips and tricks" - well there are quite a few mentioned by your trainer in the C25K podcasts/app, maybe not hundreds (and also some of the advice doesn't work for everyone!) but if you want more, I'm not sure what else to suggest? hmmmm. Actually - the C25K+ ones have lots of advice on form, I think? misswobble can you comment?
How far through C25K are you?
Maybe the running magazines/websites have something to offer?
I'm only on Week 1. I'm actually repeating it because I feel like it's still a challenge. I'm listening to Laura and she says at the end, 'have a banana'. That's the kind of tips I'm after at this point. I've just listened to this podcast which is about mental health and running - and it's great - but I'm ready for actual running tips right now drchatterjee.com/williampul...
I used the Zen Labs C25K app (US Based). It is an 8 week programme but is 5k in 35 minutes. Minimal 'chat' - basically gives your walk and run signals, tells you when you are halfway finished and an odd word of encouragement now and then. You also collect your badge after each segment which is cheesy - but fun
Yes, I saw this one. Do you know how it compares the the UK version? I wondered if it had a bit more contents (not fluff)
It's a little more condensed but I found it to be a more "streamlined" process. It gets very simple by the end as far as tracking times and breaks - it definitely works though
Excellent. I’m gonna give it a try, though I’m sure I’ll miss Laura
"Slow...then slower still" being key in both versions
Best wishes for it Keep us posted
I have no problem with that at all
Running slowly was so hard for me to do consistently and I still can subconciously pick up my pace without meaning to
One day I did my run "as SLOWLY AS POSSIBLE without breaking into a walking step"
It was fun - but astonishingly difficult I learned a lot about how my body actually operated when running also
It definitely helps if you're a sloth like me!
This is an excellent podcast about mental health and running: drchatterjee.com/williampullen
