Starting over....

Soooo - after completing this wonderful course last year, laziness kicked in big time, and could never really get back on track... so i have joined the gym, and have started again on the treadmill (mainly cos it will be easier to get all my exercise done in one place!).

Anyone got any thoughts on completing this on the treadmill as opposed to the great outdoors?

Cheers

I’ve done both and outside is way more fun but there’s defo a time and a place for the treadmill. Running’s running regardless 🤷🏼‍♀️👍🏻

Thats what i was hoping to hear :-)

I know its going to be boring, nothing like staring at a car park for 30 mins!! but i am thinking it will be easier to be consistent (ie. Not put off by rain, or cold etc). Thank you

What you lose in the excitement of the great outdoors you'll more than make up for in "I'm inside and dry" smugness.

Set that incline to 1% tho :-)

Ha - yeah - i hope the smugness beats the excitement!!

That was going to be my next question, do you need to up the incline to replicate "outside/gravity" etc, but you have already answered that! Thanks

Mindreader, me... :-)

Have fun.

You starting completely from scratch and doing the whole thing again? Kudos!!

Im not sure if its *completely* from scratch, as i have kept a bit of fitness through playing football, but will be starting week 1 tonight, and will then see whether its worth moving on to week 2....wont push to much further though!

Cool. Sounds sensible. A few people pop up here and go "I play footie, so I'm starting at W5, is that okay?" and then wonder when they get raised eyebrows.

I'm sure you remember all the advice about it being a structured programme and you mess with it at your peril :-)

Good luck, tonight. Go and smash that sucka :-)

I started over again due to an injury but got to about week 5 and found that my fitness levels weren’t as dire as I thought they’d be. I just needed the reassurance and confidence from the program. Good luck for your return run!! 💪🏻

Hi Scott nice to hear from you again... Good luck building your distance back up. On a treadmill I would cover the clock and maybe distance with your towel, nothing worse than watching the time slowly notching up...

Maybe you will be tempted back outside sooner than you think :) xx

Thank you - good to be back! Run completed and not as bad as I imagined! X
