Week 4 🐌

Following on from my last disastrous run, I wasn’t at all looking forward to my first run in week 4. This sense of foreboding only grew when the lovely Laura started her speech full of warnings. Gulp!

But do you know what...I did it! I slowed down to slower than slow and when I felt like giving up in the final 5 minutes, I imagined you guys cheering me on! Thank you! 💕.

It is curious though that during a hectic day, grabbing a cuppa and sit down for 5 minutes the time whizzes by in a flash. Yet that final 5 minute run felt like 3 hours. I can only conclude that I must be entering a different dimension when I step out the door in my running gear! 😂😂

Great job! “Disastrous” run probably set you up nicely, don’t diss it, it made you stronger!

My clock ticks slower and yet my ticker goes faster every run... where’s Einstein now to add that to his relativity thing???

You did it, and you’ll do the next... and in that next one, when that bell rings, you’re half way to beating this programme! Go get it.

Crikey, it will be half way through! 😱💕.

I think your right about that last run. It certainly made me more self aware with pace and breathing.

I reckon Einstein might be on that other dimension! 🤪

Yay! I'm glad my post didn't scupper you. Here's to W4R2 on Wednesday! 🍻

Dear Oaktree2

Thanks for writing this. I do my W4R1 tomorrow and not at my favourite time of day. I'm dreading having to try and keep going for 5 minutes when yesterday I was having to openly shout at myself to keep going! Well done to you. Hope I somehow manage to keep my legs moving in a motion that can pass as a jog/run!

Aww Lissy, it can feel really daunting can’t it when you know what’s coming? But actually...you’ve got this far and you will get further!

Embrace your inner 🐌! Also do you listen to music while you run? Singing in my head is a good distraction technique if I’m struggling! I also made sure I had 2 days rest before starting week 4 so I knew I was fresh. Also imagine the guys from this forum cheering you along. That’s a great motivator.

Be sure to post your progress...I’ll keep my 👀 open for it. Good luck! I’ll be there in spirit too!

👍🏼 I listen to 'running music' on Amazon Music. It's not bad but I do question some of the tracks that are supposed to encourage running 🤣

I'll keep posting as long as I keep running! No idea where the current motivation is coming from other than it seems I'm in competition with myself. Aliens must have taken me over!! 👽👽 Lol
