Any advice??

Hi, I graduated end of June and have struggled to maintain running since! I do better with anything if I have a goal so think not having the app as a reminder doesn't help. Does anyone know of a similar app which requires you to regularly track your runs?? Thanks guys x

Lots of app choices. Nike do one. "Run zombies" is pretty popular too.

But there's a broader point that every run you do needs to have some sort of goal attached to it. Just going out and running for a while will eventually turn into a succession of boring plods. So mix it up a bit. Do some intervals and some hills and work on speed and strength and endurance when you're ready and your legs are in decent shape.

Loads of different ways to do each of those. But you need to be having fun whatever you do xx

I used the app well after graduation, just repeated run 3 of week 9 with lovely Michael Johnson for a few weeks, to consolidate my 30 minute runs. You could also try the NHS Speed or stamina podcasts when you are ready to mix things up. Once you have run 30 minutes a few times a week and feel more confident, there are so many new challenges for you to try! Running up small hills, fartleks, increasing distance. It’s a whole new world!

But, most important is to slowly build up your running legs, and that will happen with consistent running. Don’t push too hard too soon in order to stay injury free and happy. Consider some cross training too? Swimming, yoga, core strength training? All will help you to get stronger as a runner. 😁

PS you can track your runs with free apps like Runkeeper or Strava. Runkeeper has fun voice coaches who give you little pep talks now and again. 😁

Have a look at the FAQ posts where there is a really helpful post with tips for post grad running.

Hi, I’m not far off completing my second C25K programme. The first ended on injury and I just got out of the running habit 😔

This time I intend to use W9 for a few weeks to consolidate the 30 mins and reach the 5k mark if I haven’t reached the distance, work on speed etc. Then if all goes well I might start the B210K programme. There are also C25K podcasts too apparently but I haven’t used those yet.

Good luck and remember everyone goes through fed up phases in life, stick with it for your healto and wellbeing and you’ll be so glad you did. 😉
