Knees!

Happy to say that w7 R1 was much easier than I expected, after struggling with w6. However I would appreciate some advice about knees. They're not exactly painful, but they feel a bit weak after a run. I do a few stretches when I finish, but not sure if I do enough or the right ones, or if it's something completely different. I always get great advice on here, so I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Many thanks πŸ˜€

I was told to get the correct shoes as I over pronate. This really helped my knees. Also change them when they start to collapse inside, they stop being as bouncy recommended is 500 miles but I do keep mine longer as they are quite pricey. My knees usually only bother me now if I haven't run in a while.

Thanks, I think maybe I need to have a gait analysis and get the right trainers πŸ‘

Hi, I suffered knee pain even after walking on rest days. I used to blame running on pavements and tried just running in the park. Gait analysis and then good trainers have so far sorted the problem. Also "proper" running socks to prevent blisters. πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸ§¦πŸ§¦

If you haven't, definitely invest in good shoes!!! so important from the beginning!

But also, i don't know- just thinking outloud: check your running style. Do not bounce. I think that probably puts some extra strain to the knees.

Hope it gets sorted quickly!!

Thanks, I'm wondering if I maybe pushed myself a little too hard, I took it gently and slowly this morning and the knees feel ok at the moment. I'm still going shoe shopping though, better safe than sorry! πŸ˜‹

Safe AND BOUNCIER!!! Happy shopping!

I'm glad the slower pace made a difference to your knees. We must listen to our bodies too. I am sure that there is a reason behind all this "slow and steady" prompting. And we have a whole life to improve our time, pace, distance.

Who knew running would be so addictive! We are all so eager to accomplish!!! Amazing.
