Morning all. I got up this beautiful morning to do my Week 9 Run 2 and my left calf felt tight and was cramping so Ive put off my run until this evening, hopefully it will have loosened up a bit by then. Both my calves are the only part of my body that still feels any carryover from Saturdays run and I have stretched them out regularly since. I don’t want to push it and pop one as I did that some years ago it really hurts and I couldn’t walk properly for weeks. Does anyone have any experience of this or remedies? I don’t want to blow it so close to the finishing line Thanks😀 👍

Get a foam roller! Cheap and weirdly effective! I’m always stunned by how much mine works 😂
Hi Tasha99 I’ve not come across of one of these I guess the description is in the name? Is it anything like a paint roller. 😀
Similar! Have a look on amazon. Or maybe you’d find one in sports shops if you want it today. They’re fab! And cheap 👌🏽 Mine was £5.99 in Aldi but you have to wait for the sports events for them to stock them. There are videos on YouTube how to use them but basically you just roll up on down on them 😂
Wow ok cool I’ll have a look😳

Luckily i only need mine for shins so rather less balancing to contend with 😂
Excellent I’ve had a look. Yea not really like a paint roller (what a twit) looks good I’ve ordered one already. I’m going to massage my calf throughout the day hopefully it will be ok by this evening. Thanks for taking the time to help me out 👍
You’re wise waiting until your calf has loosened. 👍🏻
I have a foam roller, although I’ve yet to use it. I bought it off Amazon for £9.99 ‘just in case’ - it’s a weird looking thing, all covered in ridges and bumps. There are YouTube vids showing how to use them.
Good luck! 👍🏻😀
I had a grade 2 calf strain a few years ago...I'm very nervous about it happening again. I have been using a foam roller...Amazing (I got mine from argos) . It really helps. I've also been to a sports therapist , turns out I had a tight hip flexor which was causing an imbalance. You might have a discrepancy further up the chain which is causing your calves to get tight.
