is it me or is there a really big jump from week two to week three? just done my third run for week two and still slightly struggling with 90 second walk, I thought week three would be two mins but it's three!!! seems like a huge jump to me

Hi there. I did my first run of week 3 yesterday.

I was a bit daunted by the prospect of three minute runs too, but it was ok, actually. I just had to really slow down so I could keep going, which is basically the advice I'd picked up from other runners on this forum. My inner snail emerged!

(There's also something strange about doing fewer intervals after so many in w1 & 2. I think it sort of tricks your brain a bit.)

I'm sure you'll get there. Take it slowly. 😎

It’s a big jump, but it’s only double the run length... couch to one minute was a bigger jump. Relax and go slow, you will surprise yourself.

I thought the same. Slow and steady! Ive got W3R3 tomorrow. Im excited to move to 4 but nervous at the extra running. We got this! X

You run for exactly the same total time in W3 sessions as you did in W2, but in fact walk less..........so it is not a big step up, rather a step down.

From here on in the progression is gentle and carefully calculated and you will slowly realise that you are in fact capable of doing far more than you believe.

Keep it nice and slow and you will be fine.

Ah, that explains the 'brain trick' I felt from doing fewer intervals!

There are lots of weeks where it feels a bit daunting and that there is a big jump - most of us who are a bit further along in our journey have posted/commiserated on here about it in the past!

Please be reassured that the plan is a progression and it does work - if you’ve completed all the runs in the preceding week then you are ready to move on, and will probably find that you can do it!

Good luck; let us know how you get on 🙂

I thought the same but did W3R1 yesterday and it was ok. Keep going. If I can do it am sure you can too.
