Got W5R3 tomorrow bright and early, and Iโ€™m bricking it, almost talking myself out of having the stamina to do it, how did you all get through the 20 min run?

Any hints greatly received ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Youโ€™ll be fine! I was worried too, but (as everyone advised me on here) it is mind over matter. The program prepares your body for it, you have already completed a 16 minute run, trust that your body can do it and tell your mind โ€˜YOU CAN!โ€™ ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธBest of Luck! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

You can do it, stay strong. I just did the same run this morning. I won't lie, it was hard work. But it's mostly in your head. I had to slow my pace down a bit to get through it, more so that I could breathe easier. Keep yourself psyched and maybe try and think about something else while you're running.

Good luck

I really loved this run . Definitely my favourite run of the whole programme. I was nervous and excited. Slow and steady , enjoy your surroundings . Watch people walking dogs etc. You will be surprised by how quickly 20 mins passed . Then you will find that it is easier to run than it is to stop start all the time. It was that run that I decided that i loved running.

Good luck xx

I did that same run this morning. I found it was definitely more of a mental challenge. You have to put any negative thoughts to the back of your head and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Have to say the feeling when you get to the end and Laura tells you you've done it is amazing. A real sense of achievement.

Tell the old you whoโ€™s saying you canโ€™t do it that youโ€™ve got this. Leave that you on the couch... go and run... itโ€™s not an easy job, but relax and trust that you can do it.

Got through it with slow and steady trepidation :) It was always hard to trust myself and the programme every time I started a new section of it - but if it's worked for you up to now, you gotta know it'll take you all the way to graduation ;)

Less than ten percent graduate in 9 weeks so never fear - you will make it :)

Wishing you many happy miles in your future โ˜บ

Take it slow - if you have some left in the tank you can up the last few minutes. If you've got to this point you can do it. It's nowhere near as dreadful as your mind is telling you.

You will be surprised at how much you enjoy that one long stretch - and the joy you feel at the end is brilliant๐Ÿ˜Š

Good luck x

Weeks 3 and 4 have been gradually reducing your walking breaks. Now youโ€™re ready to try missing them out altogether. It is a mental thing. When you think you need to stop, slow down instead. Youโ€™ll be surprised at the difference that makes. And trust the programme: thousands of people have done this before you and a fair percentage have posted in terms similar to yours before this run. Itโ€™s a challenge but youโ€™ll find itโ€™s an achievable one and the feeling afterwards on the warm down walk is amazing :)

Well done! I saw that run as a complete breakthrough, tough, but I finally felt like I could be a runner! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi Taffinator. I had the same thoughts too as I approached W5R3. The important thing to remember is that it is just thoughts not reality! You are ready for this because of all the training you have done. Take it nice and slowly and remember the breathing. Youโ€™ll feel amazing when youโ€™ve done it and will never look back.
