Does anyone know why the week 3 runs are only 25 minutes In total while others are 30? I feel a little disappointed....

I think it's just because it's the first time you're doing a couple of longer stretches of running and it's just easing you into it a bit. Week 4 is 31 minutes so a bit longer than the first couple of weeks.

It all makes sense at the end. The programme works! It's all to do with building up your running slowly. You complete a week and you are ready for the next! 😎😎

You’ll find as you progress all the others are not 30 - some are 40 Anyway week 3 has its purpose which is to get you less reliant on walking. It aims to do this by giving you the same amount of running as week 2 but with fewer and shorter walk breaks. Once you’ve learned in week 3 how to manage with shorter breaks, then the running time goes up again in week 4. I don’t know who designed this programme but it strikes me (as a rookie runner) as being very carefully worked out.

If you look at Mary's posts the times she mentions include the warm up and warm down. The objective in week 9 is to run for 30 minutes, so with the five minute walks before and after that makes 40.
