You haven’t let yourself down... you started this, that’s the hardest step. Many people have not completed run 1 first time out. Slowing down is the best advice to give. If you think you can’t go any slower, you can! Other than that walk on rest days, or cycle, anything but running (or nothing)

Well done for getting to the start line... takes a lot. You can do this. Just keep trying and you will do this.

And welcome!

No you haven't. You've done more than half the running and it's quite likely you started off too fast which is why you ran out of steam. See how it goes next time. If you still feel it's too much, you could consider taking a couple of weeks to go walking briskly for a mile or two several times a week to get your body used to increased activity, and then have another go.

No no no you have not let yourself down. Having started is a success. You've joined the forum which is a great idea. Take the advice, especially to slow down. So think slow, go slow. Also, lots of hydration especially on rest days, and have rest days. I managed 6 then couldn't complete runs 7 and 8. I am now on week 6 with run 2 tomorrow or Wednesday. I've got this far (and intend to graduate) you can to.

TBH didn't think I needed to slow down as I thought my pace was slow. Will try again on Wednesday & see how that goes 😂😂🤔🤔

Well done on starting! You have not let yourself down at all. I struggled with week 1 (just started week 2 today!) I walk faster than I jog, and didn't manage all of the runs on my first time. Just slow right down and find a running motion that works for you. Oh, and people watch, it takes away thinking about when your 30secs are up! Keep going ;)

I can only echo what others have said. You're off the couch and you've started the programme. Well done!

I didn't manage W1D1 on my first attempt. I collapsed on the floor and spent half hour watching the world go by and then sulked off to a tube station!! Completed it two weeks later by taking it much slower! And here I am now running 25 minutes non stop.

I've also found the wrong music can be a hindrance. Pick the right tunes and it definitely helps!!
