I was due to do W8R2 this morning but gave blood last night and, when asked if I was planning on doing ‘anything strenuous’ in the next 24 hours, I said I planned to run in the morning and I was told it’s not a good idea and to leave it for a day or so. I’ve been donating for years and never had any ill-effects after - mind you, I’ve never planned a 28 minute run after either! Has anyone else been told this? Feel a bit disappointed I can’t run today but will be out there tomorrow!

Well, saving one life a day is a pretty good rate. Helped save a stranger today, back to you tomorrow.

Well done for donating, it's a wonderful gift. I used to donate, now sadly unable to for health reasons. I would definitely say drink lots of fluids today and don't try to run as you'll be noticeably weaker.
Enjoy tomorrow's run!

I gave blood last Sunday and did my run a day later than normal on Tuesday. It was fine. My lungs had to work harder but 30 minutes was always going to be serious effort. In fact I ran faster than I’ve run before. Perhaps I was trying to prove something!
