Just started couch to 5k! I’m on my second run and my legs are agony well my whole body really, I know I’m very unfit but does this faze pass when running becomes a habit? Really wanting to push through the pain and keep going!

Yes it does pass. Maybe have a second day rest break in between runs when its really bad, but as your body gets used to this new thing you're forcing onto it, it will adjust and get stronger and better able to cope 👍😁

Had the same thing on the 2nd run. Currently on week 2 run 3. Went out today with shin splints pain and flu symptoms but ran through it and feel way better for it. It’s true what people say. If you’re feeling the pressure, just slow it down as much as possible. Speed comes later. I had 2 days off because of the shin pain and concentrated on shortening my strides, landing mid foot. Pain has now gone. Good luck and keep us updated 💪👍
What kind of pain is it? Injury pain or hey-I-forgot-I-even-had-that-muscle pain?
Luckily, I've never experienced pain. I chalk that up to being super super slow.
Once I hit running over 20 minutes straight, I did get that kind of aching muscle soreness that tells you your body did something besides sit behind a desk all day. Ha.
Personally, I kind of like the sensation, it's not too intense and fades before the next run. And I like the reminder throughout the day. It feels like a secret (ssssh. I ran today.) No one in my day-to-day knows I'm doing this, so it is a literal secret!

Aye it’ll pass. Things that help: the right footwear, enough water the day before, warm up properly, reduce speed.

When you are ready to get proper running shoes it’s worth going to a specialist running store where they will do a gait analysis so you get shoes that suit your running style. I needed lots of cushioning because by legs were really sore even in week 2. Other people need particular support because they overpronate. Worth getting your gait videoed by someone who knows what they’re doing, even if it is reflected in the price of the shoes.
Have felt it myself! It will ease as you get fitter, but do heed the rest of the advice here too. I was so unfit I had the all over body aches from a bit of yoga (and we're not talking Ashtanga here, it was gentle) when I first started exercising.
I had sore legs after the first two runs, but spent a few extra minutes gently stretching my leg muscles before the next runs, and haven’t had any aches since.
Worth a try, in case it makes a difference.

Welcome to this great forum! Trust the programme take as much advice as you can from others! Remember you have made the hardest step, the first step! Take it slow and steady and enjoy your new found freedom! In a few weeks time you will look back and be amazed! 👍
It will pass and welcome to the most fabulous support you will ever need! This is my 2nd attempt as I had to stop for various reasons and I just done W2 run 1 today 😊 my legs are sore but I know it will get better well done for getting out there and keep posting 😀

Keep it slow and steady,,,, and try to relax.. each and every run makes you stronger.
The one thing you should not do, is run through real pain.. ( you will know the difference) and when you are under par or ill, try to take it gently and do not push too hard
Yeah, it's normal. Give it time, you just feel a little fatigued but happy you've done today's run.
I bloody hope so! Day after first run I can barely walk up and down stairs. Calves are just going naa
It gets so much easier! I started last Saturday and the first two runs nearly killed me off! After listening to support on here I carried on and slowed down. Now on wk2 run1 which I completed this morning and it was hard but great! I no longer care if people are looking or I think I look like a headless chicken when I run 😅 it’s about doing it for myself! Keep pushing on and you will smash the next run, I promise the pain won’t last, just take it slow! Well done 👍🏼
