I need some advice.. I’ve tried to do wk5 run 3 twice now and I can only manage 15 mins! Do I need to repeat the full week or just keep trying to do it? Thanks in advance

Try it again and go way slower than before. As long as you are making running movements it counts, even if your speed is no faster than walking.

Relax.. think of the other attempts as trial runs :) and slow down.. think snail on a go slow...then imagine me whispering... slow and steady... let the legs carry you..breathe gently and you will do this :) x

No, repeat just that run not the whole week, you completed runs 1&2 ok, yes?

It's very hot in the UK at the moment, have a rest day and make sure you're properly hydrated, and run very slow & steady...

Keep trying, maybe a bit slower? I have just finished w9 and am amazed that I got there. Not 5k but running for half an hour (getting tonabout 3.5k).

Just keep plugging away at it. It's a mental barrier - 20 mins seems like forever. Slow it down a bit, but if you did run 2 OK then you really can do this. And it feels great when you do.

Try a different route, hopefully somewhere scenic, so that you get distracted from the running.

When you start to get tired, break the run down into manageable sections: "I am going to run to that streetlight". As you approach the target, pick another one, and run to that. Keep going until you finish!

Last strategy is to start counting... 1-2-3-4, 2-2-3-4, 3-2-3-4, 4-2-3-4, 5-2-3-4.... and agree with yourself that you'll reappraise your tiredness after 20-2-3-4. Assuming that you have not fainted, are suffering from uncontrollable bleeding, or have a greenstick fracture, then start counting from 1-2-3-4 again. Repeat until you've finished.

Your brain is suffering from not knowing when the run is going to end. You can try a there-and-back again route, so you run out from your house for 10 minutes, then turn around and run back. That way you know how long you've got left to run. This is a dangerous strategy, because you know how long you've got left to run.

I agree it’s more of a mental challenge - I was convinced I wouldn’t do it but listened to pod cast at beginning and thought I can do t - I am slower than a slow snail but I managed it - good feeling x

Keep going you CAN DO IT XX
