I complete c25k a couple of weeks ago and have continued to run 3 times per week. I have started using the steeping stones pod cast. This week I am struggling I was unable to compile it this morning only done a 15 minute run feel like I've let myself down. Any advice on how I can get back up there. I'm also find g I'm sweating so much more than normally. Thanks for listening

Hi, I haven't used any of the C25K +podcasts properly so difficult to comment on those specifically but in general, maybe take an extrs rest day, make sure you are really well hydrated and try to run in the cooler part of the day, even though it's not ad hot now, it's still hot, maybe try a different approach, see if you can just run a bit quicker than you did at graduation (same route shorter time) or still run for 30 mins and go a bit further, experiment and enjoy whatever you do

Once you have graduated you can do what you want to do. So shake off any negative thoughts. As Berksrover says it is still hot out there and hydration is key to running. Try to vary your routes if you don't already and if it is awkward to change can you do it in reverse? You don't actually have to do 30 mins every time, just try to get out 3 times a week to keep the habit. Also walking breaks are allowed now you're a graduate - sometimes they can make all the difference - and no it isn't cheating (Google Jeff Galloway method, otherwise known as Jeffing on these sites).

Nearly forgot, there's also this information which is from the pinned posts

It is a "thing" for many post grads in that it seems to go a bit pear shaped just after graduation. It will come right as long as you keep at it and don't stress 👍🍀

Thanks for the advice going out again in the morning. I'm not giving up onwards and upwards

Keep well hydrated all the time - everyday, not just on running days. Whilst this weather is causing us to sweat so much more, health permitting, add a little bit of salt to your diet preferably sea salt over ordinary table salt. It all helps to keep your body working well and making running a bit easier.

Looking back - I graduated a year ago - it’s not been a straight route from graduation. Every time I set a goal or started a plan something ‘didn’t quite work’. The stepping stones didn’t quite hit the spot, neither did a couple of tries to build up to 10k. Parkrun has been good, two or three times, but too hot for me now. So I now try to flow with my energy. At the moment I am redoing C25k and really enjoying it - it feels easy, fluid, pleasurable- so much better than the first time around. If enjoyment while exercising is my main goal then I reckon I’m a winner. Hope you enjoy the journey of post-grad exploration!

Well done you👍I have recently graduated and asked forum for guidance have decided for at least 4 weeks I am going to try two 30 mins runs along with one 5 k park run🏃‍♀️ I hope this improves time and distance being honest think this ongoing may be my limit and when I started out the plan was to get some intense exercise into my life this is now happening may I suggest you look backwards and realise just how far you have come!

Thank you I have also decided I will be doing the same as yourself 2 times 30 mins run and 1 5k Park run per week. Thinking back to where I started you are totally right have come along way. Looking forward I would love to do a 10k run but will take my time and see how it goes
