My next run will the first one in week 4. So far, my ankle muscles, at the front, have ached during each run period, and stopped immediately during the walking phase.

The last two runs this has shifted upwards to my calves and ankles were alright. The 3 minute runs in week 3 were difficult because of this

Please tell me that muscles strengthen enough to do the 25 minute runs. At the moment I’m not even sure if I’ll manage the 5 minute ones. My calves were giving out by the end last time

I’ve never run by the way, not even as a child, too big. My muscles are struggling as their is a lot of me to move around

I do a slow jog when running, if I slow down any more I’d be walking. No problem with enough breath, or anything else, just the muscles

Try stretching each day. It’s just all new to muscles that haven’t worked before. It’s proof your doing it ! I had similar problems. Try longer breaks between runs I do twice a week to give my muscles time to recover. You don’t go back to the start. Carry on where you left off. I’m feel I can walk faster than I run. But it’s definitely not true. Keep positive. Your doing well.

It might be your footwear? Im a long way from being an expert but the same thing was happening to me and i was told to get better trainers. I had never rum before either so i was using a normal old pair I had in the cupboard. When I splashed out on some running trainers all the pain seemed to ease.

Course this might just be down to my muscles getting stronger but it certainly helped.

Have you had a fair analysis? It might be as simple as your trainers not being quite right? 😀
